TRR 359 at the European Phagocyte workshop 2025 in Madrid

The European Phagocyte Workshop 2025 took place in Madrid (Spain), bringing together leading researchers in the field of phagocyte biology for four days of intensive scientific exchange.

Among the participants were six members of TRR3359, five of whom were selected to present their current research findings. In the TRR-359-sponsored session on "Environmental Control of the Functional Specification of Phagocytes," led by Philipp Henneke and Markus Sperandio, the three invited speakers Elvira Mass (Bonn, Germany), Stefanie Wculek (Barcelona, Spain), and Pablo Pelegrín (Murcia, Spain) provided valuable insights into their research. Philipp Henneke concluded the session with his presentation on the development of barrier tissue macrophages in early life.

In addition - three early-career researchers from TRR359 were selected internally to present their data and ongoing projects in short talks to the audience: Vitka Gres (postdoc, TRR 359 project A02), Clarissa-Laura Döring (PhD doctoral candidate, TRR 359 project B03) and Xia Li (PhD doctoral candidate, TRR project B09). Julian Brück (PhD doctoral candidate, Aachen,) was also invited to present his data, and Merve Göcer (TRR 359 project A02) was selected to present her project during the poster session. Their presentations highlighted both the scientific visibility of TRR359 and its strong commitment to promoting the next generation of researchers in this field.
